Trinity
Trinity, 10, took time to answer some impromptu questions for us. Here’s what he
had to say:
What do you do for God at church?
I stand up at service and do the reading before the offering.
How do you prepare when you’re at home, for the reading before Sunday? Do you
study?
Yes, my dad types some Scriptures, and then gives them to me so I can
choose one for that week. First, I choose a Scripture then look up the
words that I don’t know. Then I put that together with the Scripture and
say the Bible verse that I chose, to my dad. And I talk to him about what I’ll
say for the Sunday service.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A professional basketball player then, when I retire from basketball, God
will probably lead me to start my own church.
What’s your favorite Bible story?
When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so that we’ll live right.
What do other kids need to know about Jesus?
They should know that He’s a good person. He helps us when we’re in
trouble, we have to put our faith in what He says.
So God talks to you personally, what does He say?
To me, when I’m in trouble, He says I have to do better. He says that I
have to believe what He says, like obey my parents.
What happened when you got saved?
I was at church and God told me to go to the altar on my own. After I got
saved, my life started to change. I was kind of bad before and then I wasn’
t bad anymore, once I got saved. I started doing stuff for God and He just
led my life.
What are you saved from?
He saved me from my sins, my wrongdoings.
What were your wrongdoings?
I used to be bad at school.
Do you sometimes have to remind your family to have faith?
Not my family, but my friends. My family has to remind me.
What does it mean to trust God?
God will do a lot of things for you, He’ll help you with a lot of things that
you’re going through.
What can you talk to God about?
Thank Him for waking me up this morning, giving me clothes, parents, a
warm bed, a house, food, water, watching over us on the dangerous
highways, giving me another day, keeping me safe...
What do you ask Him for?
If family members are sick or have died, I ask Him to help encourage the
family.
What should adults always remember about God?
That He’s the holy and righteous God, and He’ll strike you if you say a
cuss word.
So I take it you’ve heard adults “cuss” then?
Yes!
