Caleb, 5, took time to answer some impromptu questions for MS. Here's how he
responded:
What's the name of your school?
Slattery. That's one question I got right!
What are some of the things they're teaching
you at school these days?
I'll just give you one thing —
they teach us about the months of the year.
Can you say them for me?
Well, I can't remember because yesterday
we had pizza and I don't remember the
months of the year.
Because you had pizza?! OK, what's the first one?
The first one is … they start with January and February.
What else?
March and April, and May and June, July and August and September and
October and November.
And there's one more …
No, that's all … Oh, December!
What about when you go to church, what do you learn?
You gotta praise God a lot.
Why?
I'll give you a hint — because He lives in Heaven, He can fly, and He has
power. There's only one God. One time, the devil was an angel, but he
wanted to take God's job. So God had to take him out of his job. So he was
bad! And he started making people do bad things.
What is the devil making people do?
Stuff that they know they're not supposed to do. Like calling people bad
names, jumping on the bed, hopping on the floor, and breaking their toys.
Why do people let the devil make them do those things?
They just don't know … Because you can't see him.
Well, where is he now?
In Heaven on the mountain.
Are you sure the devil is in Heaven?
He's not really in Heaven. He's in the sky, but in the mountains.
What's God's job?
To protect people, tell people right to wrong … right from wrong! I can't
think of anything else.
Tell me a good Bible story.
Well, Sampson … there was a girl and she cut his hair. And the hair made
him stronger but when he woke up, the girl tricked him. While he was
asleep, she got scissors and cut his hair off.
Why did she take his hair?
Because she wanted to be strong. She just wanted the hair.
What happened when he woke up and saw his hair missing?
He was in the building between two “piltars” and chained up, and she put
out his eyes so he couldn't see and he got more hair so he got stronger
and pushed the piltars and everyone died, even him because he was still in
there.
Sampson died too?
Yeah, that was his punishment.
For what?
He let her cut his hair.
Tell me about soccer.
Sometimes when I'm playing the games, I get goals. That's a good thing.
Once the team starts up again, my parents have to put me on a new team.
My team is Mega-kickers.
Sounds like Mega-Fest with TD Jakes.
No, you mean mega-fast. It means you have to go super fast.
What will happen when Jesus comes back for us?
Hopefully He'll create a new earth. There's going to be a new people here.
We're going to have to all move to a different city. But still on earth, just the
other side — in Texas! Then I will see Him, but I don't know what He looks
like.
What will you tell Him when you see Him?
That I learned that we have to praise Him and give Him special offerings
and we have to do what He asks us to do.
